August 8, 2005 -- In Sturgeon Bay a few walleye and bass are being caught. Some of the walleye are small. Reports from both Milwaukee and the Port Washington area indicate good action on chinook with a few lake trout and steelhead and occasionally a brown trout. Near Algoma salmon fishing has been good not far offshore before or shortly after daylight.

July 20, 2005 -- In the waters off Sheboygan the action for chinook has been good for those fishing early morning, late evening, or at night with glow lures.

July 12, 2005 -- In the Algoma area good numbers of salmon and some steelhead area being taken by boat anglers and a few are being caught off the piers. There are lots of small fish being caught while fishing for the larger ones. Most of the small salmon (shakers) are being released.

May 14, 2005 -- In the Two Rivers area chinook, brown trout and lake trout are coming from the near shore waters in depths of about 25 feet or less. The area off Sheboygan has similar conditions but some chinook are often included in the catch.

May 2, 2005 -- A few brown trout have been taken by trolling the shallow water near shore. Out of Two Rivers a few lake trout and salmon have been included in the catches. In Green Bay the catches have included a few northern pike along with the browns.

April 26, 2005 -- This is basically a generic report. There are a few charter boats in the water and they have made a few trips with varying results but the season is only beginning. This time of year in most of the Great Lakes steelhead and brown trout are in the waters near shore and can be taken by trolling close to shore. Smelt and suckers are making spawning runs and can be taken in and near the mouths of streams. Steelhead are also still in many streams. Walleye are just completing their spawning and the white bass are beginning. As the waters continue to warm the fish should begin feeding more actively. Be sure to check the fishing regulations for your area since seasons and creel limits can vary by area and time of year.

Reports will begin when boating season starts. (Usually in April)
